Dental Implants in Warren NJ, Permanent Tooth Replacement
Dental Implants At The Warren Smile Center in New Jersey
Tooth loss commonly occurs as people age. Jawbone density decreases, teeth loosen, and eventually teeth fall out. Youths and young adults may easily suffer from tooth loss during an accident or from crunching into hard food. At one time, dental bridges and dentures were the only options to replace missing teeth. Dentures, however, can be extremely inconvenient, requiring messy and unreliable glue to hold them in place, and dental bridges need the support of surrounding teeth. Whether you are young, middle-aged, or a senior citizen, obtaining a better form of tooth replacement can benefit your life. Now with current advancements in dentistry, The Warren Smile Center can provide patients with dental implants, a more reliable, natural-looking, and permanent tooth replacement options.
What are dental implants?
Dental implants are a permanent means to treat tooth loss and may be used as an alternative for dentures or bridges. The Warren Smile Center provides a four stage treatment plan to prepare your mouth for the implant and eventually affix the permanent prosthetic tooth in replacement of your lost tooth. IV anesthetic is used during the initial surgery. Implants are anchored into the jawbone to support the implant. Within 4 to 6 months, the jawbone will naturally attach to the implant. Once this occurs, we will then place a metal post into the implant, serving as a fixture for the prosthetic tooth. This stage may take several weeks to heal, but once healing occurs, the doctor may cement or screw on your new tooth. The four stage dental implant plan occurs over several office visits, one or two surgical procedures, and over several months. Although the overall plan is time consuming, the results are undeniably beautiful, completely reliable, and permanent.
|Dental Implant Stages|
|Stage 1: Initial Surgery||Implant screws are anchored into the jawbone to support the implant.|
|Stage 2: Osseointegration Period||Jawbone attaches to the implant over a 4 to 6 month waiting period.|
|Stage 3: Abutment Connection||A metal post is placed into the implant as a fixture for the new tooth.|
|Stage 4: Final Prosthetic Restoration||The new tooth is either cemented or screwed into the metal post.|
How can dental implants benefit my everyday life?
Dental implants provide several advantages over other forms of tooth replacement, such as dentures and bridges. Dentures are not a permanent solution. They require glue to affix them in place, are often uncomfortable, and may loosen while eating or speaking. Even when glued, dentures may slip or click, causing patients to feel older beyond their years and self-conscious about their appearance. Dental bridges, although permanent, require support from surrounding teeth. Dental implants, on the other hand, are permanent. They provide reliable, comfortable, and natural-looking teeth without compromising the health of surrounding teeth. Once the new tooth is cemented or screwed into place, patients may use their new tooth the very same day, finding renewed confidence, health, and beauty in their smile.

Am I an ideal candidate for dental implants?
Patients who achieve the best results with their dental implants are typically in good general and dental health. Patients will also need sufficient jawbone density to support the implants. The staff of the Warren Smile Center will scan your jaw to ensure that sufficient jawbone density exists, however, if the scan concludes that jawbone density is low, the doctor can perform bone grafting or bone regeneration to build jawbone density before your dental implant procedure. You can refer to our bone regeneration page to obtain more information concerning those procedures or simply contact our friendly staff to learn how bone grafting and bone regeneration can help prepare your mouth for dental implants.
