Temporary & Permanent Dental Bridges in Warren, NJ

Dental Bridges At The Warren Smile Center in New Jersey

Accidents and aging have a way of thwarting our best intensions of maintaining a youthful appearance. Teeth which have been knocked out or fall out mar the brilliance of our smile, make us appear older, and produce an unflattering first impression. In addition to these cosmetic disadvantages, missing teeth cause dental health concerns as well. Eating certain foods may become difficult, chewing may be painful, and surrounding teeth may shift to fill the gap made by the missing tooth. At the Warren Smile Center, Dr. Kayserman offers dental bridges, so patients can regain the beauty and functionality of the smile they enjoyed before living through the passing years changed their plans.

How can dental bridges help me?

When a tooth is lost or knocked out, patients should seek dental assistance as soon as possible. If left untreated, as many as 5 surrounding teeth may shift because of the gummy empty space. Serious health concerns are associated with this shift; patients who never seek a dental solution for their missing tooth put themselves at risk for a change in bite, sore jaws, gum disease, and tooth decay. These conditions often result because shifting teeth become more difficult to clean than perfectly aligned teeth. A dental bridge can replace the missing tooth and avoid the health concerns associated with allowing a missing tooth to remain untreated.

Purposes Of Dental Bridges
Restore the beauty of your smile
Reduce the risk of gum disease
Restore your ability to bite and chew properly and without pain
Improve your speech which may be impeded by missing teeth
Prevent surrounding teeth from shifting

What should I expect while receiving dental bridges?

Patients should anticipate two in-office visits to the Warren Smile Center when receiving dental bridges. During the first visit, Dr. Kayserman will prepare the treatment site and surrounding teeth. Dental bridges are created in a lab, so impressions are taken of the treatment site and sent away for processing. While patients wait for their permanent dental bridge, Dr. Kayserman will supply them with a temporary bridge. Once the permanent bridge is created, Dr. Kayserman will cement the bridge in place. Below is a chart of the steps patients can anticipate during this procedure:

Steps To Fit a Dental Bridge
Step 1: Planning With Imprint Models Diagnostic models are taken to plan your individual bridge procedure.
Step 2: Tooth Preparation Surrounding teeth that will support the bridge are carefully prepared.
Step 3: Temporary Bridge Impressions of the treatment site are taken for lab processing, and a temporary acrylic bridge is cemented in place.
Step 4: Permanent Bridge The final bridge is created in a lab and cemented permanently at the treatment site.
Step 5: Fitting Adjustments and shaping is completed, so the bridge looks and feels natural.
